Step 1:
Open the "Button Studio" program.
Step 2:
Click in the box with the "Button Text" and type in the words you want to appear on the button. You will see the words appear on the preview of the button in the box below as you type. I will name my button "Example."
Step 3:
Click on the "Size + Positioning" tab. If you want all of your buttons to be the same size you will need to uncheck the box that says "Autosize." Otherwise, the size of the button will depend on the amount of text. Changing the "Text position" will change where the text is located on the button. Border size determines the amount of space between the text and the border of the button.
Step 4:
Click on the "General" tab. Here is where you can change the color of your button. Under "Fill type" I checked "Gradient" to get the two color effect.
Step 5:
Click on the "Shape" tab and select a shape for your button. I checked "Ellipse" to give it the oval shape. Don't worry about the white space if it appears. It will not affect your image.
Step 6:
The Bevel, Outline, and Surface tabs are more advanced and not really necessary. If you are satisfied with your button then you are ready to save it. Click on the "Export" tab on the top and select "GIF" from the drop down menu.
Step 7:
When you select "GIF" a "Save As" box will appear. This is where you name the button and save it to your computer. I named mine "example_button" and I am saving it to the "buttons" folder. Make sure you know where you are saving your image because you will need to find it later when you upload it to your file library in your web site.
Step 8:
Now you are ready to upload the button to your file library. Login to QuickSiteMaker and go into "Tools." Click the "Browse" button and locate the button image in your computer. A window, like image 1 on the right, will appear. Click the arrow next to where it says "HTML Files" and select "All Files (*.*)." The window should now look similar to image 2 on the right. Every file in that folder will appear. Select your button image by clicking on it. Click "Open" and the window will disappear. Click the "Upload" button and the image will be uploaded to your file library.

Step 9:
Now go into "Edit" for the page that you want the button to represent in the menu bar. Scroll down on the edit screen to where it says "Menu Image." It will say "Default Image" in the box. Click the arrow and select the button image from the drop-down menu. My button is "example_button.jpg" so that is the one I selected. Now save changes and publish the entire site. Every page that has the link to the page with the button will have the button in the menu bar. In my case, only this page, Buttons, will have a link to my example page to illustrate the finished product.
